We are excited to welcome our newest Visiting Scholar Emrah Yildiz (PhD, Istanbul University).
Emrah is an economic sociologist who teaches courses on modernization and economic development in Turkey. His major research interest lies in the relationship between Turkey and international organizations, particularly the role of foreign experts and institutional adjustment to norms and rules promoted by these organizations. His current research project focuses on the transformation of economic and political knowledge in Turkey in the postwar period.
During his time at UNC he will have the opportunity to conduct research in-person, attend in-person classes, meet and engage with faculty and students on campus, and attend conferences while in the United States.
