Alaa Hammouda, Outreach Manager for the Center for Middle East and Islamic Studies at UNC recently visited the Halifax County 4-H camp, engaging staff and students in an enlightening exploration of ancient and modern Egypt. Students from various grade levels participated, immersing themselves in the rich history and vibrant culture of Egypt.
Throughout the event, students were captivated by stories of the majestic pyramids and the intricate religious practices of ancient Egyptians. They also marveled at the beauty of the Nile River and learned about Egypt’s historic landmarks. The interactive sessions provided a unique opportunity for students to connect with a civilization that has significantly shaped human history.
The event was a resounding success, leaving students with a deeper appreciation for Egypt’s contributions to the world and a curiosity to learn more about this fascinating country.
