Workshop: “Ethical Archival Practices, Digital Humanities, and Community Engagement” (Virtual)

In this workshop we aim to explore ways in which scholars working across disciplinary boundaries engage with digital humanities in addressing a wide range of issues. We are concerned with ways of interrogating traditional archival practices and developing ethical community engagement. The workshop will cover a variety of historical periods, focusing on minoritized communities whose heritage is endangered, marginalized languages, and less-explored geographical regions. We will also investigate access to and use of private collections that have received insufficient attention from scholars, and are thus less prominent in national archives and libraries.
