Western Kentucky University, Potter College of Arts & Letters, Department of History. Assistant Professor, History of the Islamic World. The History Department at Western Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track position as an assistant professor, beginning January 2012. Candidates should specialize in the history of societies shaped by Islam within the Middle East, Asia, and/or Africa. The successful candidate will be expected to teach survey courses in Western Civilization as part of the General Education program, as well as specialized undergraduate and graduate courses in field of expertise. Ph.D. in History required. Applicants should demonstrate successful teaching and scholarship.
