Position Details Middle East History. Wesleyan University’s History Department invites applications for a visiting assistant professor to teach the history of the Middle East. The position will run from September 1, 2020 until May 31, 2021. Teaching responsibilities for visiting professors at Wesleyan are a 2-3 teaching load (apportionment to be decided at time of appointment) and will include the History of the Middle East survey and 1-2 courses on Islam or Islamic Civilization. Teaching might include supervision of undergraduate senior theses, essays, or research projects
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must have a Ph.D. in history or related field in hand by the time of appointment to be hired as a Visiting Assistant Professor; a successful candidate may be hired as a Visiting Instructor if the candidate does not have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment.

Additional Information Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Interviews for finalists will be conducted via Skype or Zoom.
