The Virginia Military Institute’s Department of International Studies and Political Science (IS) announces a tenure track position starting August 2012 at the level of assistant professor in comparative politics or international relations. PhD. or ABD required. A regional expertise is highly valued, in particular in the Middle East, South Asia, Central Europe/Russia, or Latin America. As well, the IS Department has a strong interests in issues of national/international security – broadly defined. The teaching load is 3 classes each semester. Research funding and support for conferences is excellent. VMI is a public, four-year undergraduate college (1,500 students) located in the historic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Lexington. Preliminary interviews will be conducted at the 2012 ISA conference in San Diego.
