Political Science and the School of World Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University invite applications for a full-time Instructor (non-tenure-track) to teach courses in Political Science and International Studies to begin August 2015. The teaching responsibilities will be split between Political Science and International Studies, with the position housed in Political Science. Qualified candidates will have an M.A or Ph.D. in Political Science, International Relations, International Studies, or Media and/or Cultural Studies and an established record of successful teaching at the lower and upper-division levels. Preference will be given to candidates with ability to teach some combination of introduction to international relations, introduction to comparative politics, international studies, intercultural communication, comparative media and politics, globalization, and courses on the Middle East and/or Mediterranean Studies. Second language fluency preferred. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU is required.
