The Department of Theology announces a search for a one-year position in Islamic Studies for the 2012-2013 academic year, with the possibility of conversion to a tenure-track line thereafter. Ph.D. preferred, but A.B.D. candidates near completion will be considered. Courses to be taught are chiefly at the undergraduate level and include “Islamic Religion and Culture,” as well as topics courses in the history of religions and in Abrahamic religions. Candidates should also be prepared to teach the department’s required general education course in “The Christian Tradition.” Consideration of candidates will begin on November 1, 2011, and will continue until the position is filled.
