The University of South Australia is an innovative, outward-looking institution known for its strong and engaged research and its experientially-based teaching and learning that is conducted in close collaboration with business, industry, government and the professions.

The International Centre for Muslim and non-Muslim Understanding is a world first in its academic focus, moving beyond research into Islam as a phenomenon and examining questions of social justice and social inclusion.

Established in 2008, the Centre is devoted to undertaking ground-breaking research and creating positive change, and will play a part in finding solutions to the basic lack of understanding and increasingly hostile tensions between Muslim and non-Muslim worlds. The Centre will be a unique forum in which scholars develop and share ideas within the framework of a broader social justice agenda.

The Director: International Centre for Muslim and non-Muslim Understanding is responsible for developing and leading this prominent  international Centre. You will produce original, innovative and distinguished scholarship and publish in leading journals in the field, whilst also building a national repository of information on research findings and policy solutions. A key requirement of the role is to collaborate with a broad range of key stakeholders, including major government bodies, community leaders, and members from leading centres of learning, scholarship and engagement.
