The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts (SSHA) invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions to begin July 2012. The first position is an open rank level. For this position, we are seeking candidates whose research focuses on artistic cultures and traditions (pre-20th century) outside of Europe and the U.S. The second position is also an open-rank level. For this position we are seeking candidates whose research investigates developments and intersections of technology and the arts, preferably in non-Western cultures. For both positions, preference will be given to those whose scholarship and teaching are interdisciplinary and globally comparative, with a solid grounding in critical theory and historical knowledge in Euramerican fine arts. Candidates with a background in studio art, or can demonstrate sustained interest in integrating historical, theoretical and creative components in their teaching, are most desirable. For more information or to apply: Application deadline: November 01, 2011.
