The University of Johannesburg offers research and publication opportunities and invites applications for Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in Religion Studies (in general), Liberation Theology, Contemporary Islam/Muslim Societies, Tafsir and Qur’anic Studies. Other areas of specialization in the broad area of the Study of Islam and of Christianity will also be considered.

Applicants need to have either have completed, submitted or to be ready to submit their doctoral theses at the time of their appointment. The contract is for a year and renewable for a second year.
