The University of California-Davis Middle East/South Asia Studies Program seeks a lecturer with a specialty in Iranian studies. Teaching responsibilities are two courses in Iranian studies that may include any of the following: Safavid Iran (History 190D), History of Modern Iran 1850-Present (History 193D), Topics in Regional ME/SA Studies (focusing on Iranian history, culture and society; MSA181A), and Proseminars in ME/SA Studies (also focusing on Iran; MSA182A.)

Requirements include demonstrated excellence in teaching, commitment to undergraduate education, and evidence of engagement in scholarly research. Start date 1/1/13. Preference given to candidates who have completed requirements for the Ph.D. by December 2012. Advanced A.B.D. candidates with prior teaching experience in Iranian studies may be considered.
