Sarah Lawrence College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment in contemporary Middle Eastern History and Politics beginning fall 2012. Candidates should have a completed PhD and must have competence in at least one Middle Eastern language. We seek candidates with a strong commitment to teaching and an interdisciplinary approach, whose research interests and course offerings would cover a broad range of social, political, and historical developments in the Middle East from the nineteenth century to the present.

The successful candidate will hold the Christian A. Johnson Chair in International Affairs and Middle Eastern Studies, established by the Christian A. Johnson Endeavor.
