The Department of Philosophy at Salisbury University is accepting applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor.

Our department is professionally active and collegial; it has an exceptional record of sending students to graduate/professional schools.

Primary Job Duties:  Teach three (3) introductory level courses and three (3) upper level courses per academic year. Serve as co-advisor to our active Philosophical Society. Active scholarship and university service. Periodic travel for conferences may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:  Ph.D. in Philosophy. Required Areas of Specialization: Ancient Philosophy or Political Philosophy. Additional Required Areas of Competence: Philosophy of Race or Islamic Philosophy.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be contingent upon verification of eligibility to work in the U.S. and is expected to begin January 2013.
