New Jersey City University invites applications from candidates for a position in World History. Elementary/secondary teaching experience and knowledge of NJ and Common Core State Standards is highly valued.Candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching introductory and upper-level non-Western history courses at both our Jersey City campus and Wall Township, Additional Location. Research specialties are open, but preference will be given to candidates with a background in Asian or Middle Eastern history. Additionally, the candidate will advise education students and teach introductory and advanced social studies methods courses on both the undergraduate and graduate level education. The candidate may provide clinical supervision to student teachers in urban schools. The candidate will participate in departmental, college, and university committees.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in history is required; experience teaching at the elementary/secondary level in an urban school setting is preferred. Doctoral candidates will be considered but the degree must be attained by the time of appointment, September 1, 2012. Knowledge of NJ and Common Core State Standards in the discipline is preferred. The ability to teach off campus and courses delivered in online and blended formats are also preferred.
