The Department of Religion announces a tenure-track position in Islam. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in the texts and traditions of Islam and guide undergraduates in the exploration of historical and contemporary Islam both within and beyond the Arab world. Area of research specialization is open. The Department specifically seeks candidates whose geographical focus lies outside South Asia, but that geographical focus may range from Africa to the Middle East to Southeast Asia. Candidates will be expected to work in an interdisciplinary setting and contribute to programs in International Studies.
