Dr. Shah Mahmoud Hanifi is a Professor of History at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. He is author of the books: Connecting Histories in Afghanistan and Mountstuart Elphinstone in South Asia. He is also author of many book chapters, journal articles and short essays.
