Exhibit: Streetwise Istanbul
June 20, 2021 | 2:00 pm - August 22, 2021 | 7:00 pm
Streetwise Istanbul is a collaboration between an Irish American author and Turkish photographer featuring images, stories and wisdom of everyday people who
make a living on both sides of the Bosporus, and to whom Istanbul owes its color and vibrancy. Quotes and anecdotes offering glimpses into the hearts and minds of street vendors, metro musicians, artisans and others will surprise and enlighten and show us what we all have in common. Streetwise Istanbul aims to enhance global understanding and dispel stereotypes associated with cultures of the Near East prevalent in the mainstream media; facilitate cultural exchanges between Europe, America and Turkey; and promote cultural diversity and mutual respect within our communities, schools, universities and workplaces.
