Katy Whiting is the Managing Director of the Sijal Institute for Arabic Language and Culture in Amman, Jordan. She has extensive experience teaching Arabic and developing curricular materials at the K-12 and collegiate levels. She holds a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Texas at Austin, where she specialized in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language and Curriculum Design. Whiting will discuss her journey, both personal and professional, with the Arabic language as a non-native speaker in the Arabic-speaking world.
