Cultural Event: Mauritanian Music Comes to Duke – Arabic Halaqa

Please join us for a talk by Lubaba Mint El Meidah and Imad Debesh on the story of Mauritanian music.

 

Loubaba & Imad, mostly known as the queen & the king of Mauritanian music, will be showcasing their craft at Duke. They will talk to Duke students & faculty about their music, its history, and how they incorporate Syrian music into this West African tradition.
