The Center for Interfaith Engagement of Eastern Mennonite University (EMU), Harrisonburg, Virginia, seeks visiting scholars of Islam and/or Judaism. Each scholar will be a resource on campus and in the classroom in either Islamic or Jewish studies. Depending on the scholar’s experience, s/he may individually or team-teach courses at the master’s and/or bachelor’s degree level related to their faith tradition including faith-based peacebuilding. In addition, the scholar will be expected to pursue his/her own scholarship and to participate in interfaith dialogue and other relevant conferences and workshops. We encourage individuals from Muslim and Jewish faith communities to apply. A Ph.D. or appropriate terminal degree is strongly preferred. Appointments will normally be for one academic year. One or two positions are available for each of the next three academic years beginning August 2012. Compensation will be consistent with the candidate’s qualifications and EMU’s pay scale. Scholars on sabbatical leave are especially welcome to apply. To express interest, please send curriculum vitae or resume and letter of intent to Provost Office, Eastern Mennonite University, 1200 Park Rd, Harrisonburg, VA 22802 or email to Provost@emu.edu, by March 31, 2012.
