The College of William and Mary, the Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (AMES) Program, invites applications for a Mellon Faculty Fellow position in the humanities or humanistic social sciences whose research and teaching focuses on the Middle East and/or Indian Ocean. AMES (http://www.wm.edu/as/globalstudies/ames/index.php) is a concentration within the interdisciplinary major of Global Studies, and is supported by 36 faculty affiliates from eleven departments. As a multiregional program (including East Asia, the Middle East, and South Asia), AMES seeks to enrich our understanding of a broadly conceived “Asia” in relation to other parts of the world. The qualifications are PhD in hand at the time of appointment and a demonstrated interest in blending undergraduate teaching with research in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies.
