GENERAL DUTIES
Performs teaching, research, and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise as noted below. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments, performing administrative, supervisory, and other functions as may be assigned.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The Hunter College Department of Political Science invites applications for a tenure-track position, at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor. The position, to begin in fall 2012, involves teaching courses and conducting research in comparative politics with a focus on the Middle East/North Africa. Hunter College values both effective teaching and excellent scholarship.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of expertise, or equivalent as noted below. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, interest in productive scholarship or creative achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. expected at time of appointment. For appointment as associate professor, substantial publication and teaching experience are required; for appointment as full professor, evidence of an established professional reputation, a strong and sustained publication record, and substantial teaching experience are required.

COMPENSATION
Commensurate with rank and experience.
