Columbia University, the Department of Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies, announces a junior faculty opening in Indo-Persian studies. We seek a candidate with broad intellectual interests who will help to shape a South Asia program within a dynamic transregional department. Teaching duties will include, in addition to courses in Persian texts, and the literary, intellectual, and/or religious history of Persianate South Asia, more general undergraduate courses in the department and in the Columbia core. The appointment, at the rank of assistant professor, begins July 1, 2012.
