Full-time, temporary 2012-2013 only. Minimum requirement MA in history; ABD or Ph.D. in history preferred. The successful candidate is expected to teach lower level survey courses on the history of any of the following regions: the Middle East and/or Muslim World, Africa, Latin America, or Asia (with the exception of East Asia); as well as upper-division courses in his/her fields. Teaching experience at college/university level preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations is required. Finalists for the position must communicate well and successfully complete a phone interview. The majority of regular, full-time department faculty must make a recommendation for hiring.
