The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Beirut seeks scholars in classical Islamic history and culture for full-time employment in the Department of History and Archaeology to begin September 15, 2012.
Applicants who are academically experienced and of established standing as well as outstanding recent PhD recipients in that field of specialization are encouraged to apply. In addition to normal teaching duties, applicants are expected to contribute to the development of curricula and advisory functions related to the department’s PhD Program. The language of instruction is English. Depending on the point of entry, the period of initial appointment is either four or seven years.
