The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Media Studies at the American University of Beirut invites applications for a full-time position in Anthropology at the assistant professor level, with a focus on the Arab world and preferably in law and/or religion, to begin Sept. 15, 2012.
We encourage applicants who can contribute to the development of interdisciplinary programs and the University’s general education requirements. We will prioritize those who show promise of innovative contribution to the field through scholarly publications, original research, and teaching excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a competitive research program involving graduate students and to contribute actively to teaching and service. Applicants must have a completed doctoral degree in socio-cultural anthropology at the time of appointment.
