The Lebanese American University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor in the field of History effective Fall 2012. The position requires, by time of appointment, an earned Ph.D. Degree in History from a recognized university. Preference will be given to candidates who are experts in ancient and medieval history of the Mediterranean and the Middle East, history of the Middle East with emphasis on the Ottoman Empire, and history of Islam. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will engage in research in the field and contribute to developing the program.
