The Department of Anthropology, Wichita State University, invites applications for a full-time tenure-eligible Assistant Professor position in sociocultural anthropology beginning Fall 2013. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in anthropology by the time of hire, a record of fieldwork, and demonstrated proficiency in teaching and research. Preference is given to candidates with a record of scholarly publications. The candidate must be willing to teach an on-line introductory course in sociocultural anthropology and is expected to engage in the development of topical and area courses in sociocultural anthropology. Grant activity and the pursuit of external funding to support research are expected. The candidates’ regional and topical specialties should not duplicate those of current faculty (East Africa, Middle East and Central Asia, Islam, religion, ritual, gender, and visual anthropology).
