On Wednesday, August 24th from 3:00 to 4:00 PM the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) will host a webinar on Middle East and Islamic Resources.  In this webinar, CRL staff will highlight significant Middle East and Islamic source material from their collections, including recent material acquired by Middle East Microform Project.
The webinar will feature the following speakers:

  • Peter Magierski (Middle East Studies Librarian, New York University) will present useful information on open access Middle East and Islamic resources on the web, and the challenges of discovery and sustainability of these resources
  • Roberta Dougherty (Head Librarian, Middle East Studies Library, University of Texas at Austin) will present preliminary findings on current efforts to document revolutions and transformation in the Arab world.
  • James Simon (Director, International Resources, CRL) will survey current web-archiving activities related to the Middle East and Islam, highlighting the ongoing difficulties of capturing a changing environment.
