University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the Department of Religion, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Islamic Studies. Ph.D. or equivalent with a specialization in Islam required by start date, 16 August 2013. Research area is open, but knowledge of classical Islamic thought and texts is required. The successful candidate should offer evidence of outstanding scholarly potential and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching. Creative use of instructional technology is highly desirable. Salary is competitive.
